Apparently Giraffes only have 7 thoracic vertebrae, the same as us and virtually all other mammals, but due to high joint flexibility (ball-and-socket) they can tuck their head
behind the joint of a leg when sleeping. So they probably could if they tried, especially when their long tongue is taken into account.
