it used to actually be quite a common thing on image boards to post pictures of things (sometimes people) who looked they were talking and accompany the image with text that was meant to be interpreted as what the "talking" item in the image was saying, the text area of the post substituting for the dialogue bubble of a traditional comic.
is this posting technique no longer familiar to most image board end users?
