Good lord. This place is still around, huh? I'm not sure whether I'm happy to see it or not. Probably both.

I told myself I'd come back for the fifth anniversary. And here we are: here, today. It's been five years since I wrote the words over there to the left. I wonder if anyone still remembers me. I wonder if anyone from back then is even still here. I wouldn't blame you all for leaving. I can't say I've been back more than a handful of times in all these years.

'All these years'. What a strange phrase. Three, four, five years? What do those numbers even mean? What it means is different, I'm sure, for me than it is for you. To me, this whole Cracky thing is something that happened both yesterday and never at all.

But I can't be the only one who remembers what happened here those years ago. Can I be the only one who came back in the hopes of maybe seeing a familiar face? The memory is foggy and gets foggier by the day, but I can still remember a few names. anything, Abyss, Aimpoint, Daisuke, Suede, whatbandages. Has everyone moved on? I hope you have, though it would be nice to see you again. Maybe just to remind myself that it really did happen.

I've moved on. It's so strange to think I ever doubted I would. At times, I feel like maybe I was the only one who took everything so seriously. Was it really as dire as it seemed at the time? Maybe it was just a game and the fantasy got the best of me.

I've lost touch with the person I was back then. It's hard to believe something about this girl was so profound that it changed my life, but it did. Why? How? My heart remembers, but my brain doesn't. I couldn't possibly put it into words. I don't understand anymore. The cause, or the effects, really. I'm fundamentally different now than I was five years ago. How much of that is a result of a strange girl I discovered on the internet? Who can say?

Once or twice, I've ventured into that dingy, musty-smelling corner of my hard drive where my Cracky archives still live (how it's survived the countless formats and hard drive crashes is a mystery). Pictures, instant message conversations, saved threads. Reading the words I wrote, it's impossible to imagine them coming from of my fingers. I was so obsessed. So self-important. So young.

I'd say I'm an adult now, but if I've learned anything, it's that that word doesn't really mean much. I'm older. Maybe a little wiser. I'm happier; that's for sure. Things have changed.

Or have they?

Do you think your growing happier is related to your moving on?

>> No.4

>>3
Probably. I guess.

I don't think I could have been happy if I didn't move on, but my happiness wasn't a direct result of my moving on, if that makes sense.

In any case, this isn't a relapse, so don't worry. More of an experiment, or a nostalgia trip, really.

Did you check this place now and then? How did you manage to remember the five years anniversary?

Lots of things have happened in between.

In what way do you think you've grown up?

>Did you check this place now and then?

Well, I continued checking pretty regularly through '07, but after that, maybe only once every year or two. Back when I left, it already felt like the place was on its last leg, so it's been surreal each time to come back and see it's still around. With recent posts even, most of the time.

I guess I'm curious if you were all mostly around back then or if the posters here now are generally new captures. If you are, how did you end up here?

>How did you manage to remember the five years anniversary?

You know, it would be great if my memory was this good when it came to useful stuff...

>Lots of things have happened in between.

Seems like. Have I missed anything interesting?

>In what way do you think you've grown up?

Hey, I never said I'd grown up. Older? Sure. Grown up? Jury's out on that one.

Most of the changes aren't exactly quantifiable, but they're there. If anything, I'd say I've got a better handle on what's important to me. Not to say that this stuff wasn't. But I think I understand better why it was.

>or if the posters here now are generally new captures. If you are, how did you end up here?

I'm a newcomer. Saw a picture of Cracky on some chan-related site, learnt about the boards through ED, found the "celebrity fan club + personality cult + information-hunt atmosphere" interesting and started lurking the boards (in January 2010 I think).

>Have I missed anything interesting?

I'm not sure what things >>8 was referring to; but this is an interesting thread that covers some happenings of 2008:

(It's kind of huge)

And here are some more threads that might (It's hard to know who knew what in 2007 when I haven't been around then) contain some new information to a person from 2007:

stumbled upon a cracky thread over at 4chan
at first I was like
"ew."
but then I was like
"owait she's actually kinda cute."
and THEN I was like
"omg fuck why is she so perfect. ;_;"

and here I am. just checking in everyday for the chance of rares being posted...

Welp, thanks for the reading material.

Ah, the three stages of Cracky acceptance. It's sort of strange to think people are still discovering her even today and going through the same process I did.

I wonder if I have any rares that still haven't been released. Probably not.

>>13

Thank you. Is there an award involved? I'm not sure I can accept it in person, but if you could ship it out here...

Oh, how strange. I haven't finished reading the chat log thread, but damn, this is a trip. I remember nq / Darrin pretty well. He was a nice guy if I'm any judge of character. He had just discovered Cracky when I met him, which made it even more maddening when he was able to get close to her so easily.

I lost touch with him probably late in '07, but I left the scene with this odd sense of security. I guess I was thinking that if any of the 'fans' had pretty decent intentions, it was him. And maybe he could look after her.

I think that's part of why I was able to step away from this place so easily. I had this misguided brotherly or parental need to protect her, and I figured she would do okay with Darrin. To think they ended up together still hits me in a weird way, though. And that they were here in the states, within driving distance even... I don't know how to feel about that.

I'm here since 2008 or 2009, I've really forgotten how long but it starts to feel like a long time ago.

I was quite new on 4chan as well and I saw some thread in /b/ with pictures of her and lots of deep crackypasta, and suddenly I was hooked, I found the sekrit places and got as many pictures as I could and stalked and creeped and all that stuff. For me it has been a lot on the "mystical" side which is strong in me and with which all this cracky-thing resonated.

Lately I lurk .71 and angels. Barely CH except for quick new-rare scannings. I grew tired of CH's unfocusedness and never really became a part of any community whatsoever, I'm not the social sort of person. Will stay around, though.

Oh, hey, brah. I just fucked your goddess. Shit was so cash. She ran her mouth about a lot of things but I think that I remember some bullshit about a 'cracked channel' or something like that. Anyways, good luck in finding her, since her pussy has turned into a revolving door of sorts.

P.S. If you want a discount, mention Alex Reynolds, since it is he who gets her panties wet.

Last still come around? Everyone from 5 years ago should hop in a tinychat and do whatever. I can't believe it's been 5 years. Christ, that feels weird.
