I've been thinking about what makes the Cracky obsession so wrong to try to justify. The biggest things are obviously that she was only a kid, and that the lack of consent is a major part of (most of) our Cracky "appreciation." I'm sure if (when) Crackyfags encounter a woman or girl (shudder) photographer as talented, fair, and inviting as Olivia was (is?), they feel like she can't compare because Olivia never wanted to be the center of this kind and magnitude of attention. That's an ADMIRABLE trait somehow. And you get off on being the bad guy in that dynamic. It's wrong that we keep saying "well yeah it sucks but that's the way it is" or, worse, repeating how Olivia owes us something or that checking in would be the CONSIDERATE thing to do. I remember feeling and expressing these things, and now I'm just ashamed that I didn't see the problem with that, or didn't think it was as important as getting rares/proof of attention. It's all really wrong.
