new salyu (lily) album! i'm really looking forward to hearing it. when she sings, "i will be there", in the rain, the song i linked above, i feel such a sense of security. such is the ether.

i don't know who the male singer in the rain is. could someone help?

I don't listen to Japanese artists and didn't know of this. That's beautiful. Thanks.

i'm really happy i've passed this on to somebody who finds beauty in it. salyu, the female singer in the rain, is the voice of lily chou-chou in the shunji iwai film you may have seen.

If I can borrow your input, I've always loved that song on FFX and it seems the only violin song to inspire a serene mood in me. Not that I've searched, I just don't really listen to classical. But is there any songs you know of in the mood of this FFX song?

The Japanese music industry seems like it could be an untapped treasure that I've never searched for.

I'm not feeling any of those. That's ok. I don't have much time for music discovery these days anyway.

I remember a person that authored a lain dedicated neocities site, he also made video games in the same inspiration as they had salyu songs playing in the background, in a very soothing reverberated way. excellent.

you may also want to check out the various covers of akai tori's tsubasa wo kudasai. megumi hayashibara's version and the a cappella version on the lily score are my favourites.

he went by the name of, oddly, fauux. i don't think he knows about the crackyverse. i've spoken to him occasionally.

i'm really sorry. it's an awkward time at night and my thinking isn't up to much. i could probably name better songs for you later. suteki da ne is a beautiful song.

While not at all linked to the other music posted here I thought I'd add some lesser known Japanese music that I've fallen for over the years. Sharing is caring.

Wow, I didn't expect to find any 80-90s Japanese music likeable, but these sound quite interesting.

You have to try some Jun Togawa if you haven't already, for me she's the absolute queen of Japanese music.

I'd be very surprised if Cracky wasn't a fan at some point.
