because I'd rather see old threads than another page of ordinary /b/ style porn

the bizarreness of what we quantify as mundane, as reflected in our comment, is ironically representative content for this board.
for instance look that the image in

this decayed old carnival piece, once was shocking, playful and fun, but now it is passé and neglected, much like what you describe as "ordinary /b/ style porn". its a poor choice of image to use as an example, as that one has been floating around for a decade at least, but I'm sure you get the point. a time traveller from not too far in the past would consider our attitude towards the content you hold in disdain to be fairly absurd. does that qualify bland pictures of topless women as appropriate content here? well, not really, however it may be closer to the mark than it seems at first glance.

Its not meaningless.
We're mental nymphomaniacs, constantly seeking to have our mind fucked in a new way and every increasingly bizarre new image we encounter we take and file it with all the other old material we've moved on from. The layers and layers of the odd at overlaid with more layers of the even more strange. They stack up like sediment at the bottom of the ocean and will continue to do so until what? Until we've seen everything? Then what? Why do we do it? Why can't we stop…

you're just close to minded.

Also don't tell someone to go 'pick an argument' somewhere else when all they did was merely comment on the underlying irony you may have missed as indicated by your acts of strong disapproval, not even just saging a thread and expressing your disapproval, but bumping other threads out of the way expecting it would make a difference. We can, and do, browse the back pages often enough when the front page is rather bland. We don't need your help.

what's that "we" shit?

While >>9 has shown me that I may have overreacted somewhat, the point remains that /EoS/ is not /b/, or even /s/. Those pics had no meaning here, and it is pretty obvious it was mindless trolling.

I reacted to a defense of that pointless trolling without even a second thought for the message imbedded in the defense. I was to quick, perhaps, but I dont really agree with the argument. However, I dont believe that that back and forth does belong here, even after calming down.

Meaningless may have been a poor choice of word, I suppose I meant irrelevant, but I stand by that word.

Go argue wherever you want to, but giving back EoS it's face is more appropriate than your arguments, and so is this pic.
