Indeed. Remember, when trying to be edgy and disturbing, nothing disturbs so much as the /implied/ rather than the explicit.
For example, pic 3 is rather heavy handed and blunt. The generic kitcheny linoleum is nice, and I'd keep everything in the picture the way it is, but get rid of the roll of duct tape. Replace with a clearly identifiable dog-dish half-full and labeled with some generic female dog's name, a few pieces of dog food scattered about on the floor either from use or from being kicked a bit during the fatal struggle...maybe some bruise marks around the wrists. It prompts the viewer to ask questions about the scene and fill in the blanks with their own speculation, that generally seems to work well.
