That doesn't sound like sin at all. That sounds like good common sense. And what's wrong with becoming wise? I've always hated people who conflated knowledge with evil, i.e. not wanting children to find out about sex to keep them "innocent". "Innocent" means not guilty of a crime, knowledge is not a crime, I think the word they were going for was "ignorant".
