I usually just go with a Black Templar-like theme regardless of the army. Unless I'm following a specific chapter or whatever, then I paint them the proper colours.

I'd be interested to see Tau with dark colours. They always seem to be painted quite lightly.

I have ever color available, I just have no sense of color. Dark is done to death check out CMON.

You could use something like http://www.colorcombos.com/ to find suitable colours. You could do yellow and red and have ANGRY TAU. I dunno, I'm not very adventurous with colours. Or anything, for that matter.

Lets start with a theme and let it go from there.

Like an army theme. Something like I don't know the peoples army of Tau. Paint everything Chinese and throw gold stars on banners or something

If I wasn't such a poor cunt I'd probably put together a Rogue Trader army. I can imagine an army like that would end up being far more expensive than a regular army. Good old /tg/.
