What, pick up a project half a year after the last of the original creators abandons it? Look, you can relax, I'm way too timid about this sort of thing to do much more than just offer suggestions. (If you're honestly taking issue with me, I'm willing to listen, but please do it by email rather than derailing the thread).
Anyway, my personal view would be that the game actually has more potential when you're playing as a guy, because adventure comes to you (rimshot). It wouldn't have to be about doing as many creatures as possible or remaining a virgin, but just getting by on a day to day basis. Most guys will make a habit of avoiding "encounters", because if you relax your guard a month later you'll be married to two different monsters, one of whom wants to eat you and one of whom wants to kill you for the "infidelity" of being kidnapped by a third group of monsters that's kept you hanging upside-down from the ceiling of a cave for the past week. And all you'll want is a chance to get some sleep.
