In errant social commentary,
On how we’ve supposedly decayed;
In that over obvious irony,
The minimalist complains:
“This is what art is reduced to?”
Painting three lines on the wall.
I’ll paint four,
Be worth more.
Or struggling,
Listen to the poetically illiterate
As they hopelessly alliterate
Their failed formulaic floundering.
That can of soup needs no understanding
Just open the damn thing up.
I think I get it now
But what’s the point?
Is it lost in the endless feedback loop,
Or jammed sideways, stuck,
Just short of the pinnacle of art?
Red
White
Black
Yellow.
In small, perfect squares
They spiral off along the wall.
Each colour shouts triumphantly
As the tiles address them all.
Red
White
Black
Yellow
The mosaic curves so intricately,
Each tile is perfectly set
Amongst the others in it's quarter.
As if each spent a lifetime
Settling itself in the mortar.
Drawing back I see
The extension of the pattern.
Marvel at its brilliance,
But something is the matter.
The small squares drown each other out.
I see the picture I forgot,
An ugly stew,
A melting pot.
Rob informed me that since http://impoll.net/ went down & the Daily IMPoll Project was put on hiatus, traffic to Wish has dropped by half. Although I've been in a deep funk over the death of our beloved http://impoll.net/, Wish is in trouble and I simply can't let such an indignity stand unchallenged. For the moment, we shall be using http://htmlpoll.com/ until something better is found or impoll returns to life.

Pic is always unrelated.
Baked by man, and most importantly
It was stuffed tight
With hand picked blueberry.
But I knew better than to let
The muffin vendor trick me there.
The creation held some other secret
The depths of which,
I was unaware.
But I always believed,
The dough knew the answer
And the blueberries were the key.
I saw then as I cross sectioned
My muffin along a certain,
Precise point,
Clear blue cross
Straight from heaven
That surely God did annoint.
That heavenly crucifix of love
In his blueberries from above
Was proof enough to restore
My tenuous faith in the lord.
