So it's almost high school reunion time, and I have one day left to decide if I'm going or not. I really don't want to go, but I have two people pestering me directly about it, and one of them called me yesterday to say that five people had asked if I was going to be there (which could be interpreted in different ways). I said I would "check my calender" and then decide, but my calender seems to be free for those days, so please WIPO an excuse I can use for why its simply impossible for me to go.

Personally I probably wouldn't. It seems to me that reunions are largely a shallow exercise in people assessing if they succeeded / FAILED IT at life relative to their peers. I mean, those who were actually your friends you pretty much kept in touch with anyway, amirite? So reunions = ahoy vague acquaintances that have grown into people you know even less well.

Only yuo can make the final determination of course. If partying is involved, the possibility exists that it could be fun anyway. Another option might be to agree to go but only for time N, because <insert fake excuse here>.

Class of '98 here. Don't bother, reunions are for people to relive their "glory days" while avoiding the fact that they haven't accomplished shit in their lives. If you're here, it obviously means that you're comfortable with not accomplishing anything worthwhile.
