I'm not suggesting for a moment that well-balanced, intimate relationships cannot be sustained between partners who are essentially independent of each other, just trying to point out that even in that relationship there are going to be areas of security fulfilled by both partners whether they specifically identify them or not, and a good way to anticipate a new relationship is to understand what you want from it security-wise, and then be looking for a specific girl who can provide it as you will be fulfilling her secuirty desires by doing so.

For example: if you are a protector-sort, feeling most comfortable caring for someone when they are in need, then trying to enter into a relationship with a girl who simply does not need you to hug her better once in a while is going to be unfulfilling for you, no matter how good she is at making money or giving head. Better to be looking for the girl who expresses a stronger desire to be reassured, because the both of you will develop a more powerful sense of initmacy in your relationship.
