「Tripcodes: In favour or against?」

Anonymous
I have used tripcodes in the past, particularly in this board and when CH existed, but despite of the pros (being able to keep conversations with easy and being able to related content to the users), it always made me feel kind of dirty. I feel like the internet is the place where anonimity should take rule, but it's likely I'm just a hypocrite.

What do you crackyfags think?

Sorry, I just had to fix that typo. I'm Op though.

It's alright for serious discussions, and sometimes, original content. Other than that it looks unnecessary, at least in imageboards where mostly everyone is anonymous

I think the advantages are the same you posted but since this community is ridden with attention whores, then everyone tends to hate on the tripfags because by using an identifier, the attention is all directed to a single spot and the look-at-me contributors don't want that.

Ideally, no one should use tripcodes because this community is about worshipping Cracky, not each other.

There is a certain proclivity of some users of emulating other's posting styles to purposefully deceive other posters or to denigrate the emulated person. I think in small "communities" like this one using a tripcode wouldn't be a bad idea.
